If you are between 18 and 69 years of age and a Canadian resident, your acceptance is guaranteed – with no physical or medical examinations required to enrol.

You can choose:

  • $1,000 complimentary insurance for yourself. Or
  • $2,000 complimentary insurance – $1,000 for yourself and $1,000 for your spouse.

No cost – ever

Your complimentary personal accident insurance will protect you until you reach the age of 80 – and you will never have to pay a premium.

Add to your protection with additional insurance

You can enrol in additional personal accident insurance, with coverage from $25,000 to $200,000 – starting for as little as $2.75 a month.

Protection for you or for you and your spouse

If you choose coverage only for yourself, your Personal Accident Insurance covers:

Accidental Death: If your death is the direct result of an injury caused by an accident (other than an Air Travel Accident), we will pay the Accidental Death benefits to your spouse, child, parent, sibling, friend or whomever you choose as your beneficiary. If you have not chosen a beneficiary, the benefit goes to your estate.

Air Travel Accident: If your death is the direct result of an injury caused by air travel accident, we will pay as follows:

  • We will pay the accidental death benefit if you are a fare-paying passenger on a regularly scheduled commercial airline flight.
  • We will pay 50% of the accidental death benefit if you are a pilot, crewmember, or non-fare paying passenger on a regularly scheduled commercial airline flight.

If you choose coverage for yourself and your spouse, your Personal Accident Protection covers:

Accidental Death: If your spouse’s death is the direct result of an injury caused only by an accident (other than an Air Travel Accident), we will pay your spouse’s accidental death benefit to you. If your death is the direct result of an accident, we will pay the accidental death benefits to your spouse, child or whomever you choose as your beneficiary. If you have not chosen a beneficiary, the benefit goes to your estate.

Air Travel Accident: If your death or your spouse’s death is the direct result of an injury caused by an air travel accident, we’ll pay:

  • The accidental death benefit if you or your spouse is a fare-paying passenger on a regularly scheduled commercial airline flight.
  • 50% of the accidental death benefit if you or your spouse is a pilot, crewmember, or non-fare paying passenger on a regularly scheduled commercial airline flight.

Child Care Benefit: If we have paid the accidental death benefit and you have children under age 16 who need child care, we will pay an amount equal to 2% of the accidental death benefit to a maximum of $2,000 each year for up to five years for that care.

Tuition Benefit: If we have paid the accidental death benefit and you have children under age 23 who will attend an accredited post-secondary institution full-time within two years of your accident, we’ll pay an amount equal to 5% of the accidental death benefit to a maximum of $5,000 each year for up to five years, while in school.

Job Training Benefit: If we have paid the accidental death benefit, we’ll pay an amount equal to 5% of the accident death benefit to a maximum of $5,000 each year for up to three years for upgrading your spouse’s job skills.

After Age 70: If your death or your spouse’s death is the direct result of an accident that occurs after reaching age 70, we will pay 50% of the accidental death benefit.
